this is a list of books that are highly regarded and have been helpful to many Christians. Start with the Word of God though…

The Bible - I asked a pastor once what books he would recommend to me that have really helped him. He said, “You know, honestly, I’d say to just focus on the Bible.” Good advice. So get this down first. Bible intake nourishes the soul. It’s simply the best way … no getting around it. This is a crucial discipline, but the Lord isn’t pissed if we can’t read one day ’cause of busyness. Be obedient and lovingly study the Word rather than being legalistic and letting Satan burn you out.

A great idea for Bible intake is the One Year Bible that has selections of Scripture to read per day so you get through the Word in one year! Let’s face it, it’s hard to instill this sort of Bible intake alone so a program like this is GREAT! Plus, all other believers you know who also use it will be reading the same which can promote some sweet diggin’ and conversation if you’re intentional enough to do it.
